As you can see, Sandy and her women’s praise group are now working in the studio recording the vocal parts to each song .  It is a very demanding process that is pushing each of them to reach their maximum potential.   Estuardo Quintana is the audio technician who has been working with them faithfully since the very beginning, helping them to reach that goal.  He is quite a perfectionist, making them repeat constantly not just the songs, but individual sections so that they will be just right.  Those sessions go on for four to five hours many evenings these days.  When you pray for this project, don’t just remember Sandy, Auri, Elvira and Merly, but also Estuardo because he is an integral part of their team.

And also pray that they will know what ministry invitations to accept these days.  They need to concentrate on finishing the cassette, but they also don’t want it to become their reason for their existence.  The Lord has called them to minister to women and the cassette is only a vehicle for accomplishing that.

Upon returning to Guatmala in January, I did some much needed maintenance in the dental clinic at the drug rehab center.  We removed all the equipment and furnishings from the patient treatment area , scrubbed it down from floor to ceiling and then painted the walls and ceiling.  The same needs to be done with the sterilization and storage area.  Also, thanks to your contributions for our ministry, I was able to replace the portable light that I have been using for the last fifteen years with a more efficient permanently mounted one that has a more concentrated, focused beam  of light.  My vision isn’t quite as good as it used to be (I’m not old, just my eyes) and the better light source makes dentistry a lot easier.

This year our local church asked me to be in charge of directing its evangelistic outreaches.  It is a joy for me because the members of our church that are involved with me in this area of ministry are very committed and enthusiastic.  The difficult part is not motivating them, but making sure that they stay focused and do not try and win the world for Christ in one month.  That is an enviable problem, right!

In February, we organized a Valentine’s Day dessert for couples in a nice restaurant and had the satisfaction of seeing three couples accept Christ as their personal Saviour.  Sandy participated with two other memebers of the praise team by providing live background music during the event.  She played her clarinet and was joined by a guitarist and pianist.  It was a special time for everyone and one of the couples that accepted Christ told me that they want us to do another couples outreach as soon as possible so that they can invite their friends who also need to become Christians.  Boy, does that encourage you to keep on serving the King of Kings!

I also had the privilege of participating in a baptismal service for fifteen members of our congregation.  We had a family day after church at a retreat center and used the swimming pool for the baptisms.  While the congregation sang praises to our Lord,  myself and two other leaders baptized the men, women and children  that were taking this important step of obedience as a public proclamation of their new life in Christ.

In His service,
